We still have 2 CSA shares left!
The Arc NLC stared its produce garden and Farm Stand in 2012 when participants at the Employment Transition Center (ETC) in Groton asked to learn more about agriculture and farming in order to prepare for competitive jobs in this field. Since then, with the help of generous donations from area foundations and the enthusiastic support of the local community, our farm includes a 22,000 s.f. garden, an aquaponics facility that grows specialty greens and herbs, a 3-season greenhouse, a sales shed, and a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) component.
Next year we’re hoping to expand our CSA footprint on nearby land donated by the Town of Ledyard.
The Farm Stand is an innovative way to provide people with IDD valuable employment training opportunities, affordable healthy food options, and pesticide-free, locally grown produce to share with the community year-round.
